A woodland transformed to be accessible to all
Grant - £200,000
This project is being run by Hampshire Riding Therapy Centre, who give children and young people with disabilities, special needs and lifetime conditions the opportunity to enjoy the many benefits of horse riding in a safe and friendly environment. On the edge of the centre, near Petersfield, is Morelands Copse Woodlands, an underused, overgrown ancient woodland. This project will see it being transformed into an accessible and sustainable area that so everyone can enjoy its beauty. It will have many features, including a picnic area, play equipment and trails suitable for Boma All-Terrain wheelchairs, three of which will be purchased as part of the project.

A number of preliminaries are currently being resolved, such as planning permission, before the work can get underway. In the meantime excitement continues to build surrounding what could be achieved in the currently underused site, and test drives have been taken of the Boma Off-Road wheelchairs - they get the thumbs up from us!
