Our Closing Dates

There is no deadline for starting the process of applying to us for a grant. Your project’s start date is the key piece of information you need to consider when you are determining when to submit your Stage 1 and Stage 2 application.

Choosing to submit an application at the right point will give you as much time as possible to prepare and gather the information that will allow you to submit the best one possible.

Please remember you must have 10% of your total project cost in cash before you submit your Stage 1 application (this cannot be cash equivalent of goods/services that will be provided at cost or for free, or pledged amounts) and you must have secured all permissions needed (e.g. planning permission) before you submit your Stage 2 application.

Each funding application phase for both Stage 1 and Stage 2 is made available quarterly following the end of the previous phase.

A completed application form must be submitted before 12.00 noon on the last day of the relevant application phase. Failure to do so will delay a funding decision and your project’s start date if you are awarded a grant.

An incomplete application may be deferred to a later decision date for the provision of further information. Therefore it is advisable to submit an application in advance of the final dates in the above table. We cannot consider an application for a project that intends to start on a date that is before the Stage 2 decision date of the relevant round.

Stage 1 Application requires:

  • A project overview
  • Identify the elements/activities you are requesting funding for
  • Have 10% of your total project cost already secured
  • Have an idea of timescales

Stage 2 Applications requires you to provide:

  • Detailed information about the project
  • Copies of required permission(s) to complete the project (e.g. Planning approval)
  • Evidence of need for the project
  • Evidence of the benefit of the project
  • A copy of the design
  • A cost breakdown

If your application for funding is successful, you will have up to four months from the Stage 2 decision date to complete the Finance Agreement for your funding. This is the contract between us and requires you to provide evidence of all funding and permissions for your project.
