Kirkstall Valley Farm, Leeds, Solar panel installation

Our grant of £57,623 funded a volunteers’ workshop for learning and socialising and the installation of solar panels and battery storage.

About the project

Kirkstall Valley Farm is a thriving 16 acre community green space where people can learn about nature and how to grow their own food, all whilst enjoying the great outdoors. The community farm needed more indoor space for volunteers and visitors.

With a grant of £57,623 from the Veolia Environmental Trust, the farm was able to create a volunteers’ workshop for learning and socialising.

With over 10,000 visitors to the site per year and more than 50 regular volunteers, the community farm is a low-carbon hub where the local community can learn how to live in harmony with nature.
