The Vine URC – Solar Panels and Insulation
Our grant of £57,172 was used to install roof and wall insulation to reduce heat loss, as well as solar panels to improve sustainability for the community hub.
The building lacked any insulation, which meant that any heat generated was lost through the walls and roof, resulting in a cold and uninviting community space.

About the project
The Vine URC is not just a place of worship, but also a well used community hub within Ilford.
The organisation is on a journey to be green, this phase was part of an ongoing project to reduce energy use in the hall and to improve sustainability. The project has improved the lives of people in the community by providing a warm and attractive community space.
The site held an Eco-Day on completion, which was attended by a number of different faith groups and has raised awareness of sustainability measures for community spaces.
