Winstanley Tennis Club – Replacement Fencing

Our grant of £51,000 was used to repair and restore the fencing around the 6 all weather courts. This improved player and spectator safety as well as supported windbreaks to reduce weather impact on matches.

About the project

Winstanley Tennis Club is situated between Wigan and Skelmersdale, a short distance from junction 26 of the M6.

The clubs is open 7 days per week and offers coaching sessions for all age categories, for members and non-members as well as sessions for players with Down syndrome.

Our Trustees were keen to support this all inclusive club in restoring their fences to ensure that the courts were safe for all users.

The £51,000 was the first grant supported by our funding from our Whitemoss Community Fund, which is available to not-for-profit constituted organisations within 10 miles of Veolia’s Whitemoss Landfill site.
